First Protoype

The initial device we designed was a smart water bottle that also worked as a jar opener. The white foam is a massager to allow the user have a better grip. The deivce had a screen with a timer to remind the user to stay hydrated. At the very bottom was where we designed to place the battery.

The two extensions (U-shaped) were designed to each have a motor to open a lid. The black one was intended to tight around the adjacent bottle to hold it in place. The purple was intended to tighten around the lid and twist it open.

Preliminary Revisions After Design Feedback

We decided to focus on the jar opener and eliminate the smart water bottle idea. We chose a cone shape to ensure that the device works on various lid sizes. The goal was to insert motors on the inside of the cone to adjust to the lid just and perform the twisting process.

Similar to our first prototype, a hand massager was attached one end of the device to allow the user to have a better grip and to provide comfort.

Our revised device, Easotwist, was very similar to the 3D modeled solution. It was cone shaped with a foamy massager on top.

We embedded clamps on the inside that adjust to the lid's size with the use of a motor. A second motor would then twist the clamps 180 degrees either clockwise or counterclockwise depending on whether the device is set to open or close the lid.
